Creating an Eclipsys Community of Excellence
Issue: Multiple hospital systems within Ascension Health were using similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eclipsys. But, because of different project management processes, they weren’t able to share knowledge, lessons learned and best practices with others within the organization.
Solution: Because of our strong understanding of EMR tools, SharePoint, confidential data and how hospitals work, CoreTech was hired as project manager to help St. Vincent Health integrate its own process with the Ascension Health Community of Excellence (COE) and without unnecessary duplication of information.
Result: With multiple departments, CoreTech worked within SharePoint to structure information and work flow in a way that was easy to use and easy to find. Because of the confidential nature of some of the information, secured groups and folders were created within St. Vincent’s intranet that allowed information services employees to access areas such as issue resolution, change management and vendor partnerships as well as share with others within the Ascension COE. The project was completed on time and on budget.
